Black and White Fine Lines Jacquard Silk Tie

In the following section, we will show you different ways to tie a necktie.

We will advise which necktie knot fits best for certain kinds of neckties and about the attributes of the different knots.

The step by step sketches are from the perspective of a man you are watching while he ties a necktie.

If you have problems with the execution of the knots, you can print this page and turn the paper on the head to make it easier to convert.

Windsor Knot:

The classic under-the-necktie knot.

Because of the double fixed broad neck tie end on the neck loop accrues a voluminous, symmetric knot.

Half Windsor Knot:

The half Windsor is the most compact of the slightly asymmetric knots.

It is perfect for moderately heavy bow ties – especially if they are a little short.

The Pratt knot is known in the U.S.A. as the “Shelby knot”.

This type of knot fits well with short, lined neckties.

Its shape is similar to the Windsor knot.
