Maternity Prom Dresses
If you are pregnant and still plan to attend the prom, you can dress in style!
Following, we give you tips to feeling comfortable and having a more flattering look.
Choose Comfortable Fabrics
During your pregnancy your skin is very sensitive; also, you are more prone to overheat considering the additional weight you carry.
You should avoid wearing clothes you find uncomfortable.
Choose maternity prom dresses made with lightweight, natural fabrics such as cotton or silk.
Cotton and silk are breathable materials;,they are much cooler than synthetics and feel pleasant next to your skin.
Show Some Skin
It can be very alluring to wear sleeveless tops and low cut shirts.
If you are not keen with your arms then opt to wear three-quarter length sleeves to still show some skin.
Skirts that end above the knee seem to offset the belly well and flatter most pregnant women.

Your Prom Outfit Colour
Consider to dress in one colour from head to toe.
The most slimming look is monochromatic.
Match the colour of your tops to the colour of your trousers and shoes.
Generally, dark colours look especially flattering and slimming.
Jewellery and Scarves
Jewellery and scarves are perfect to add something special to your prom outfit.
With that, you are able to direct attention to your face and enhance your whole outfit.

Underwear
If chosen incorrectly, your bras and panties will become too tight after a while and feel uncomfortable.
You must buy nicely-fitted bras and panties as your breasts and belly continue to grow.
Bras
It is not unusual for breasts to grow two sizes larger during pregnancy.
You must buy supportive bras since they will provide greater comfort and keep the breast tissue from stretching.
The straps should be adjustable and the closure should have at least 3 positions.
An underwire bra is usually uncomfortable for many women; an ill-fitting underwire can put unnecessary stress on sensitive breast tissue.
Wider straps and a wider band can give you the additional support you need.
Make sure that you pick a breathable fabric such as cotton in order to prevent irritation to your sensitive skin.
Panties
You can get maternity underwear in all different shapes and sizes.
Make sure that you buy underwear that does not bind or dig with an elastic part that does not irritate your skin.

General Fitting Advice
Shoulders:
The seams should lie flat on your shoulders.
If there is any pulling on your shoulders when you sit, the dress is too small.
If you have a dress with shoulder straps, they should also lie flat on the shoulder.
If you sit down, the straps should stay tight so they cannot slip from your shoulder.
Neckline:
When you are standing, the neckline should lie flat.
If you sit down and you feel pressure on your throat, the dress is too small.
If the neckline does not lie flat and there is a gap, the dress is too big.
Chest:
Stand up straight to make sure there isn`t any pressure against the breasts or pulling through the back.
Sit down and check again to see if you feel comfortable, especially at the breasts and the back.
Back:
There should be no pulling or gaping on the back.
If the dress has a back zipper, make sure there is no tension around it.
Armholes:
Armholes should close around the arms without any gaps or pressure.
If you have a sleeveless dress, make sure your bra is not visible from the sides.
Side seams:
They should lie flat and run in a smooth, straight line without any puckering.
Hem:
Look at the hem from the sides.
The hemline of the dress should have a smooth, straight line all around ( except on styles with an asymmetric hemline).
See that the hem doesn`t roll outside on the front, back, or on the side seam.
