A neck tie is the quintessential man's accessory.

The following points are important for a high quality necktie:

The material

The indication �pure silk� doesn`t mean very much because there are high quality and low quality silks offered.

Cheap neckties are usually not made of high quality silk.

The heavier and tighter the silk fabric is, the higher the quality.

The interlining

The invisible interlining or filling (most often made out of cotton) which gives the necktie volume, is the determining factor for the size of the knot and takes ensures the neck tie stays even and without wrinkles after untying.

The quality of the interlining is critical for the quality of the necktie!

The lining material must harmonize with the shell fabric.

Silk and wool fit well but silk and polyester do not .

A few tricks for checking the quality of a necktie:

- Take the necktie in your hand, holding it by the narrow end, and let it swing free through the air.

If the necktie twists a little and doesn`t fall straight downwards, the cutting was not perfect.

- Pull the necktie carefully in a lengthwise direction.

If the necktie stretches, it is not to be expected that it will properly retain its shape.

- The shell material should be cut out of 3 parts.

This kind of necktie fits better to the shape of the neck than others.

If you pay attention to the above points you will be able to identify a good quality necktie not only because of the high price (which is not always an indicator of good quality).
