Useful Tips for Correct Shoe Cleaning!

Correct shoe cleaning is very important for your shoes !

If you clean them consistently in the right way they will keep a nice look and stay comfortable for a long time.

Following we will give you some useful tips for the correct shoe cleaning of the different types of materials:

Smooth Leather Shoes

Clean dust and dirt from the surface of your shoes or boots with a shoeshine brush or damp cloth.

For smooth leather shoes put wax-paste or cream polish on a brush or a botch and rub it on the leather.

You will get the best results if you let the paste operate over night in a warm room.

Then you polish the shoes with a horsehair brush.

Cream or Paste polish moisturizes smooth leather, keeps it flexible, and soacks into the leather to allow leather to breathe.

Wax polish shines leather better than cream, but it seals the leather and causes it to dry out.

Suede or Nubuck Leather Shoes

Use only wax-free shoe cleaning products for suede leather shoes !

Suede leather has very fine hairs on his surface.

If you would clean this surface with wax the fine hairs would stick together and this would look very ugly.

For all kinds of leather with a rough surface you should buy some special care sprays.

To clean dry stains or marks you should gently rub a pencil eraser on the affected area.

A fine sandpaper works also good if you use it gentle.

Treat grease stains with a dusting of chalk.

Leave the chalk powder to absorb the grease for a couple of hours before brushing it off.

After removing all stains or marks you should brush the whole shoe with a suede brush to give the leather a nice regular look.

Finish the shoes with a special suede leather protection spray before you use them again.

Patent Leather Shoes

Put a damp cloth in lukewarm water with some regular soap and wring it out.

Clean your patent leather shoes with the cloth and take care that the shoe doesn`t get to wet.

Fingerprints can be removed with a cloth and some vinegar.

Shine the shoe with a smooth soft cloth.

Fabric Shoes

Fabric shoes can be sprayed with a special fabric cleaning spray.

Let the cleaner dry to a powder and brush off the residue with a stiff brush.

Some Other Conditions

Remove a Gum :

To protect the shoe you should put a towel around the shoe ( leave the spot with the gum free ).

Put the shoe in a freezer until the gum gets frozen and hard.

Take a knife and remove the frozen hard gum.
